Mechanical Maintenance Technician – Field-Based\nCovering the West Midlands | £26,000–£30,000 + Guaranteed Bonus | Permanent\nA leading CNC machine tool manufacturer is looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Technician to cover the West Midlands on a field-based basis. This position has come available due to internal promotion and offers a genuine route into service engineering for someone with solid mechanical aptitude who's ready to develop. Full training on CNC machinery will be provided - no prior machine tool experience necessary.\nWhat you'll be doing:\n * Carrying out servicing, maintenance, and fault-finding on CNC equipment at customer sites\n * Diagnosing and resolving technical issues while delivering a high standard of customer service\n * Managing your own schedule across the region, travelling to client locations independently\n * Maintaining tools, equipment, and company vehicle to professional standards\nWhat you need:\n * Solid mechanical maintenance experience (workshop, production maintenance, or similar)\n * Strong fault-finding and problem-solving ability\n * Quick learner who can pick up new technical skills rapidly\n * Self-sufficient and proactive approach to work\n * Full UK driving licence\n * Comfortable with regular travel and working independently\nCNC machine tool experience is beneficial but not essential - the right mechanical foundation and attitude matters more than specific machine knowledge.\nWhat's on offer:\n * £26,000–£30,000 depending on experience\n * Guaranteed bonus: £6,000–£8,500\n * BMW 330e company car\n * Full tool kit provided\n * Comprehensive training on CNC systems\n * Clear progression opportunities - this role is available because the previous postholder was promoted internally\nThis is a permanent field-based position with genuine scope for career development.
