Working Mechanical Supervisor / Plumbing Manager (Step-Up Role)

£50,000 – £65,000 (DOE)

Location

UK – Site Based, mainly London (with some office involvement)

Company Overview

Our client is a growing mechanical contractor with an established mechanical division delivering plumbing and mechanical installation projects across a range of sectors. Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit an experienced Plumber who is ready to take the next step into a management role, while still maintaining some involvement on the tools for smaller works.

Role Overview

This position is ideal for a skilled plumber who wants to transition into project management within the mechanical sector. The successful candidate will initially combine hands-on work with supervisory and management responsibilities, with a clear pathway to move further into management.

Full support and training will be provided to develop the successful candidate through the full project lifecycle, from tender stage through to completion and handover.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and oversee smaller mechanical and plumbing projects

Carry out hands-on plumbing work when required on smaller projects

Assist with project tendering and estimating

Support the planning, coordination and delivery of works on site

Liaise with clients, subcontractors and internal teams

Monitor project progress and ensure works are delivered on time and to required standards

Manage documentation and assist with project completion and handover

Ensure health and safety compliance on all works
Training & Development

The successful candidate will receive training and support in:

Project tendering and estimating

Project management processes

Programme and resource planning

Client liaison and project delivery

Project completion and handover procedures
This role offers a clear progression pathway into a fully-fledged Mechanical Project Manager role.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Plumber within mechanical building services

Strong practical knowledge of plumbing systems and installations

Desire to move into management / project delivery

Good organisational and communication skills

Ability to balance site-based work and administrative responsibilities

Ideal Candidate

Senior plumber / lead plumber / working supervisor

Looking to step into a management position

Ambitious and keen to develop within a growing mechanical contractor

Comfortable working both on the tools and in a supervisory capacity
