BASIC FUNCTION:
Responsible for the overall operational readiness of multiple assembly lines. Plans, directs, and coordinates manufacturing process procedures designed to ensure continuous production of products consistent with established standards by performing the following duties personally. Coordinates with Operations team to keep track of day-to-day issues on production lines, and quickly provides solutions to address them. Occasionally fabricates fixtures and jigs to support development of custom tools to improve assembly of products. Responsible for routinely managing and updating Bill of Materials through an organized EC process.
SPECIFIC & ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Develops, evaluates, and improves assembly processes, procedures, methods and tooling. Updates Bill-of-Materials and assembly documentation through an Engineering-Change-Notice process to reflect changes and improvements to assembly lines, incorporating feedback from line operators and operations staff Analyzes and plans machine utilization, assembly line utilization, space requirements, workflow, designs layout of equipment, workspace, and manpower needs for maximum efficiency and safety. Plans, revises, and organizes work instructions and training activities to maintain product quality. Analyzes processes and procedures to implement cost reduction initiatives. Formulates and designs workstations, sequences and production procedures in cooperation with other plant managers to maximize product reliability and minimize costs. Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions. Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or tooling, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards. Assists in the investigation of customer complaints regarding quality and initiates corrective actions. Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes. Ensure all OSHA safety requirements are adhered to.
EDUCATION/TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Industrial Engineering or related degree .
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
2-5 years of manufacturing/process engineering experience in a progressive manufacturing facility. Experience with assembly line management and heavy machine equipment.
