Mechanical Project Engineer – Kettering – Building Services Contractor

A leading M&E contractor is seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer to support delivery on a major project in the Kettering area. This role offers strong technical exposure, a mix of office and site work, and excellent long‑term progression.

Role Overview

Review project details, design information and specifications

Collate and manage technical submittals

Work with Project/Contracts Managers, Design and QS teams on progress reporting

Raise RFIs and maintain an up‑to‑date RFI schedule

Track long‑lead plant orders and ensure latest drawings are used on site

Redline drawings with as‑built information and issue updates

Monitor subcontractor compliance and performance

Attend site meetings and support QS with variations and procurement

Manage external correspondence and ensure compliance with regulations and H&S standards

Compile O&M manuals and support commissioning and handover

Maintain accurate document control throughout the project

What You Need

Degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant trade background

Strong understanding of the tendering process

Proficient with MS Project and MS Office

Willingness to learn, adapt and support multiple project elements

Strong communication and organisational skills
