Water Industry Infrastructure Upgrade

Location: Kingston Bagpuize, Oxfordshire


An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Project Engineer to join a major UK water-sector infrastructure upgrade at a live operational site in Kingston Bagpuize. This role is well suited to an engineer with strong mechanical delivery experience within regulated utilities or heavy infrastructure environments.


Role Overview

You will play a key role in supporting the successful delivery of a site upgrade project, working closely with design teams, supply chain partners, and site-based delivery teams to ensure mechanical works are delivered safely, compliantly, and efficiently.


Key Responsibilities

  • Reviewing mechanical designs to ensure buildability and compliance
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant asset standards and engineering specifications
  • Liaising with suppliers, subcontractors, and the wider supply chain
  • Managing the ordering and technical specification of mechanical equipment
  • Providing installation support and on-site technical management
  • Managing technical queries (TQs), deviations, and change control processes
  • Supporting commissioning and handover activities as required


Candidate Profile

  • Degree or HNC/HND qualified in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent experience)
  • Proven experience delivering mechanical works on infrastructure or utilities projects
  • Strong understanding of asset standards, design assurance, and change control
  • Experience working with multidisciplinary teams and supply chains
  • Confident communicator with a proactive, solutions-focused approach
  • Previous experience in the water or wastewater sector is highly desirable
