Mechanical Project Manager – CAT B Fit Out (Central London)\n\n£65,000 – £75,000 + travel\n2–3 days hybrid working\nPermanent position\n\nJames Lewis are assisting a well-established, design and build building services contractor in the appointment of a Mechanical Project Manager to deliver CAT B commercial fit out projects across Central London, typically up to £1.5m in value.\n\nThis is a hands-on delivery role suited to someone who is comfortable operating in a fast-track fit out environment, taking ownership of multiple live jobs and driving programme, quality, and commercial performance through to handover.\n\nThe Role\n\nAs Mechanical Project Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day delivery of CAT B fit out projects, including:\n\n * Full project delivery from pre-start through to commissioning and handover\n\n * Managing programme, short-term lookaheads, and progress reporting\n\n * Procurement of plant and materials, coordinating deliveries around site logistics\n\n * Managing subcontractors and labour, including productivity and quality control\n\n * Managing technical submittals, RFIs, and coordinating with design teams where required\n\n * Running site meetings and driving actions across mechanical and wider trade interfaces\n\n * Supporting cost control and variations alongside the commercial team\n\n * Managing snagging, handover documentation and O&M manuals\n\nExperience and Qualifications\n\nTo be considered, you should have:\n\n * Proven experience delivering CAT B commercial fit out mechanical packages in London\n\n * A mechanical building services background (time served or academically qualified)\n\n * Experience managing projects up to £1.5m in a fast-paced environment\n\n * Strong knowledge of health and safety and site delivery best practice\n\n * Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and maintain clear communication on site\n\nRemuneration\n\n * £65,000 – £75,000 (dependent on experience)\n\n * Travel\n\n * 2–3 days hybrid working\n\n * No additional perks\n\nShortlisting is underway, so please apply quickly to avoid missing out
