Location: Southampton Contract Type: Permanent Shift Type: 12 hours, 4 on 4 off Salary: Up to £42,000 per annum Role Overview We are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Engineer to join a small, close-knit team operating within a critical hospital environment. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled engineer looking to work in a stable and rewarding role, maintaining essential building services that directly support patient care. The position operates on a 4 on, 4 off shift pattern with 12-hour shifts, offering a strong work-life balance alongside exposure to a highly regulated and professional environment. Key Responsibilities Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on mechanical plant Maintain and repair Air Handling Units (AHUs), pumps, and associated plant Diagnose and rectify faults including belt replacements, blockages, and leak detection Ensure all work is completed in line with health & safety regulations and site procedures Support the wider engineering team in maintaining high standards across the site Participate in the on-call rota (every other shift)
