I am currently recruiting on behalf of my client for a Mechanical Technician to join their engineering team at a specialist industrial facility in Chipping Campden, Gloucestershire. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a stable and growing organisation operating within a niche sector.

The successful candidate will work as part of a close-knit engineering team, carrying out maintenance and repair activities across a range of plant equipment and site assets. The role offers excellent variety and the chance to develop your skills within a technically interesting environment.

This position would be well suited to an ex military engineer with a mechanical bias who is looking for long term stability and the opportunity to broaden their experience.

Mechanical Technician Responsibilities:

  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across plant and site equipment.
  • Diagnose faults and carry out effective repairs to minimise downtime.
  • Support ongoing improvements to equipment performance and reliability.
  • Assist with maintenance planning and coordination of works.
  • Ensure all work is completed in line with health and safety standards.
  • Work closely with internal teams and external contractors where required.

Mechanical Technician Requirements:

  • Hold a relevant engineering qualification or be a time served engineer.
  • Strong mechanical engineering skills with the ability to fault find and repair equipment.
  • Basic electrical knowledge would be advantageous.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive and hands on approach.
  • Willing to participate in an on-call rota 1 in every 4 weeks.

Mechanical Technician Benefits:

  • Salary up to £40,000 depending on experience.
  • Callout allowance - £460 per week on call.
  • Monday to Friday 7.30am 4.30pm.
  • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays.
