Job Description
MEICA Project Manager - Water Industry\nLocation: East Midlands (office-based with regular site travel)\n\nWe’re working with a well-established contractor in the UK water sector, looking to appoint an experienced MEICA Project Manager to lead delivery across a range of clean and wastewater projects.\n\nThis role will suit someone with a strong background in managing mechanical and electrical works within the water industry, with full responsibility for project delivery from award through to completion.\n\nThe Role:\n\n * Lead delivery of MEICA projects across water and wastewater sites\n\n * Manage projects from contract award through to completion and handover\n\n * Develop and manage project programmes, budgets, and resource plans\n\n * Ensure compliance with WIMES, BS 7671, and client specifications\n\n * Oversee site activities, coordinating engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors\n\n * Manage procurement of materials, plant, and subcontract packages\n\n * Prepare and manage project documentation including RAMS, progress reports, and QA records\n\n * Act as the main client interface, building and maintaining strong relationships\n\n * Monitor project risks and implement mitigation strategies\n\n * Support testing, commissioning, and final handover\n\nRequirements:\n\n * Proven experience as a Project Manager within the water or utilities sector\n\n * Strong understanding of MEICA systems including pumps, MCCs, pipework, and instrumentation\n\n * Experience managing multiple projects and site teams simultaneously\n\n * Strong commercial awareness, including cost control and contract management\n\n * Confident communicator with strong client-facing experience\n\nQualifications:\n\n * Degree, HNC or HND in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience)\n\n * Full UK Driving Licence\n\nDesirable:\n\n * APM, PRINCE2 or similar project management qualification\n\n * SMSTS\n\n * EUSR Water Hygiene / Confined Space\n\n * Experience with planning tools (MS Project, Primavera)\n\n * Experience managing multi-disciplinary teams (M&E / Civils)\n\nAdditional Info:\n\n * Office-based role with regular travel to sites and client meetings\n\n * Flexibility required for occasional out-of-hours work and overnight stays\n\nIf interested to hear further on the role, please apply online and a member of the team will be in touch.\n\nGRS (Gearing Recruitment Solutions) operates across sectors including water treatment, wastewater, AMP projects, and energy distribution.
