A supportive and inclusive specialist school in Woodley is seeking a Mental Health Assistant to join their team as soon as possible. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone looking to build experience working with children who have social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs, while developing skills for a future career in psychology or therapy.
In this role, you will provide dedicated support to pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, helping them manage emotions, build resilience, and engage positively with their learning. You will be working with students who may have a range of additional needs, including ASD, ADHD, and mental health challenges.
As a Mental Health Assistant, you will:
* Support pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs
* Help create a calm, structured, and supportive learning environment
* Build strong, trusting relationships with students
* Deliver 1:1 and small group interventions
* Work closely with teachers, SEN staff, and external professionals
