Mental Health Support Workers - Make a Real Difference in Schools

Prospero Teaching is recruiting dedicated Mental Health Support Workers to work across Primary, Secondary, and SEN schools throughout Dorset. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference in pupils' lives-supporting them to feel safe, understood, and ready to learn.

You'll play a vital role in helping young people navigate emotional, social, and mental health challenges within a supportive school environment.

The Role

You'll work closely with students, schools, and support teams to promote positive mental health and wellbeing:

Provide 1:1 and small-group emotional wellbeing support
Support pupils experiencing anxiety, low mood, trauma, or social difficulties
Help students build coping strategies, confidence, and resilience
Collaborate with pastoral, SEN, and safeguarding teams
Monitor and record pupil wellbeing and progress
Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and nurturing school culture✅ Who We're Looking For

Experience in mental health, youth work, counselling, SEN, or support roles
Calm, patient, and empathetic approach
Confidence in handling sensitive and challenging situations
Ability to build trusted, positive relationships with young people
Strong communication skills and safeguarding awareness
DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply) What We Offer
