A leading Tier 1 General Contractor is delivering a £300m new-build hyperscale data centre in East London and is seeking an experienced MEP Construction Manager to take a key role in the delivery of the project’s critical power systems and associated infrastructure.
This is a flagship data centre development requiring highly technical coordination, strict quality assurance, and seamless integration of electrical systems with mechanical, structural, and commissioning teams. The Role
The MEP Construction Manager will oversee all electrical installation works across the project, ensuring packages are delivered to programme, specification, and quality standards. Manage all electrical work packages including HV/LV distribution, UPS, generators, switchgear, containment systems, lighting, fire alarms, BMS interfaces, and critical infrastructure. Oversee installation activities to ensure compliance with design intent, specifications, and industry standards. Coordinate with mechanical, CSA, and specialist systems teams to ensure sequencing, access, and interface alignment. Review and approve RAMS, ITPs, technical submittals, shop drawings, and method statements.
Experience & Requirements
Strong background delivering complex MEP or electrical projects for a main contractor or specialist subcontractor. Experience working on data centres, mission-critical, pharmaceutical, semiconductor, or similarly MEP-heavy technical environments. Detailed understanding of HV/LV systems, UPS, generators, critical cooling interfaces, and commissioning processes.
