Job Description
MEP Design & Delivery Manager (HVAC Bias)\nPrincipal Contractor – HS2\n£80k - £85k + Package (Day rates also considered)\n \nDeliver key engineering packages on one of the largest rail station build projects in the UK.\n \nOur client is a principal contractor delivering a west midlands-based rail station project which has been in pre-construction for the last 3 years. We need a mechanically biased MEP Design Manager to join on a permanent basis. You will initially be focused on the MEP design management but the role will develop into a delivery role in early 2027 when the project moves into construction phases of work.\n \nKey Responsibilities:\n\nSupervise design and engineering activities across multiple disciplines on projects, overseeing a team of engineers, Design Managers, lead engineers, specialists, BIM coordinators, and CAD draughtsmen.\nPlan, develop, coordinate, and review engineering and design work within the project or assignment, ensuring compliance with sector business unit standards.\nManage design registers, meeting minutes, and drawing registers, adhering to project requirements.\nFacilitate formal communication processes such as RFI's, TQ's, EWN's, and MAR's.\nEnsure design risk assessments align with installation parameters and prepare Design Management Plan.\nMaintain communication with Client representatives, Suppliers, Construction Managers, and Consultants/Contractors to ensure project coordination and compliance.\nObtain Client approval on project phases as necessary and ensure lead discipline design engineers adhere to client's Engineering and Design Management procedures.\nCollaborate with the Commercial Discipline to track design changes and variances.\nWork with the planning department to schedule design, installation, and T&C works, providing accurate assessments and adjustments to maintain project programme
