Building Services Manager – London


An established and highly respected main contractor is seeking an experienced Building Services Manager to join their London team. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in the delivery of complex construction projects, overseeing the full lifecycle of MEP services from pre-construction through to commissioning and handover.


Working closely with project leadership, consultants, and the supply chain, you will ensure the successful coordination, installation, and commissioning of mechanical and electrical services across large-scale developments £250m+.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and apply building services management systems and procedures.
  • Support delivery of the company’s Building Services strategy.
  • Oversee technical and commercial delivery of MEP packages.
  • Manage tendering, procurement and award of MEP works.
  • Ensure safe management of temporary power and energy use.
  • Coordinate MEP works within the overall project programme.
  • Liaise with utility providers and key stakeholders.
  • Review and approve coordinated drawings and builder’s work.
  • Track equipment and plant from approval through installation.
  • Identify and mitigate programme and commercial risks.
  • Ensure quality inspections, snagging and progressive sign-off.
  • Oversee safe management of live energy systems.
  • Manage testing, commissioning and handover processes.
  • Mentor junior team members and support development.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, consultants and supply chain.
  • Oversee safety files and soft landings delivery.


Required Experience & Skills:

  • Experience delivering large, complex MEP projects.
  • Strong knowledge of the MEP supply chain.
  • Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams.
  • Technical knowledge across the full project lifecycle.
  • Strong commercial and contractual awareness.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Commitment to safety, quality and sustainability.
  • Organised, proactive and strong problem-solving ability.
  • Additional commercial and contractual experience in MEP project delivery.
