Senior / Intermediate MEP Quantity Surveyor

Location: Central London | Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm
Salary: Intermediate £45,000 – £60,000 | Senior £65,000 – £80,000 + Benefits

A young, dynamic, London-based Main Contractor with over 20 years’ experience is seeking a Senior or Intermediate MEP Quantity Surveyor to join their growing team on a permanent basis.

With a turnover of circa £160M and a team of around 160 staff, the company delivers new builds, refurbishments, alterations, and interior fit-outs across multiple sectors including CAT A & B office fit-outs, high-end residential, schools, hotels, leisure, and private clients.

The Role Based in their Central London office, you will join a team of three M&E Quantity Surveyors. You will be responsible for tendering MEP packages on new projects, assisting in managing sub-contractor variation accounts, and ensuring robust cost control across all MEPH packages. Projects are procured via single stage, two stage, or negotiated processes, with combined MEP package contract values ranging from £3M to £10M.

Key Responsibilities

Tender MEP packages on single stage and two stage projects
Ensure comprehensive tender information is provided to sub-contractors
Work to procurement and tender schedules to meet programme dates
Prepare detailed project-specific pricing schedules considering design, programme, and logistics
Identify and manage key project risks including design, CDP, spatial coordination, acoustic, fire strategy, and compliance requirements
Ensure compliance with BREEAM, WELL, Wired Score, and Security Needs Assessment targets
Identify design information deficiencies and liaise with design teams for clarification
Understand interfaces of MEPH packages with other trade packages and manage impacts of changes
Analyse sub-contractor tender returns, chair mid- and post-tender meetings, and issue detailed minutes
Produce detailed recommendation reports for sub-contractor appointments
Manage sub-contractor variation accounts and change orders, ensuring accurate cost reporting and account meetings
Review client cost plans against historical and current data, identifying shortfalls and adjustments required
Undertake value engineering exercises and advise design teams on potential MEPH alternatives
Candidate Requirements

Proven experience in MEP quantity surveying within a main contractor environment
Strong knowledge of MEP tendering, cost control, and variation management
Experience across multiple sectors including fit-out, residential, and commercial projects
Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
Strong understanding of compliance, design risk, and programme impacts
