We are seeking a skilled Metal Worker to join our site fitting and maintenance team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with various metalworking techniques. This role involves fabricating, assembling, and welding metal components to repair adapt and create high-quality products. The Metal Worker will work closely with other team members to ensure that all tasks are completed efficiently and to the highest standards.
*Duties*
* Operate hand tools and machinery for cutting, grinding, and shaping metal materials.
* Assemble metal components according to specifications and technical drawings.
* Fabricate parts using sheet metal techniques, ensuring precision and quality in each piece produced.
* Perform welding tasks using various methods, including MIG welding, to join metal parts securely.
* Conduct regular inspections of tools and equipment to maintain safety standards and operational efficiency.
* Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues and improve production processes.
* Maintain a clean and organised workspace, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times.
*Skills*
* Proficient in the use of hand tools for metalworking tasks.
* Strong ability to grind, assemble, weld, and fabricate metal components effectively.
* Solid mechanical knowledge with an understanding of tooling processes.
* Familiarity with sheet metal fabrication techniques is advantageous.
* Basic maths skills for measurements and calculations during fabrication processes.
* Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
* Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
* Driving licence - preferable
* CSCS - essential
