Job Title: Metrology Inspector Salary: £40,000 - £42,000 Location: Ampthill Contract: Permanent Sector: Defence/Aerospace Working Pattern: (Mon - Thu > 37.5hrs) Role Overview We are seeking a skilled Metrology Inspector to support high-quality inspection and measurement activities within a production environment. The role will involve both routine inspection and the development of measurement solutions using advanced metrology equipment. Key Responsibilities:Program, edit, and operate CMM equipment for high-volume production partsConduct manual inspections using tools such as verniers and micrometersInterpret engineering drawings and ensure product complianceGenerate inspection reports and manage non-conforming productsSupport investigations and one-off measurement activitiesDevelop measurement solutions using CMM and articulated armsWork in line with control plans and support SPC and FAI activities Essential Skills & Experience:Proven experience programming, editing, and running CMM programsStrong understanding of GD&T and its applicationExperience with PC-DMIS softwareKnowledge of PolyWorks Inspector softwareFamiliarity with SAP or similar systemsAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings accuratelyHigh attention to detail with strong organisational skillsAbility to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)Basic problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot issues Security Clearance Requirements:To Start: BPSS and SC clearance requiredJBRP1_UKTJ
