Job Description

MIG Welder (Temp to Perm)\n\nLocation: Coventry\n Pay: £14.00-£15.00 per hour (DOE)\n Contract: Temporary to Permanent\n Start: ASAP\n\nThe Opportunity\n\nWe're looking for an experienced MIG Welder to join a busy fabrication team producing precision metal components for the automotive sector. You'll work to drawings and jigs on mild steel parts, delivering consistent, high‑quality welds in a fast‑paced, production environment.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nMIG welding of mild steel components (light-medium gauges) to production standards.\nSet up, tack, and finish welds using appropriate parameters, consumables, and techniques to meet quality requirements.\nWork from engineering drawings; interpret weld symbols, tolerances, and measurements.\nOperate fabrication equipment (grinders, drills, saws; basic jig/fixture work) and perform weld prep/finishing.\nIn -process inspection: visual checks, measurements, and basic rework to ensure parts meet specification.\nMaintain work area safety and housekeeping; follow all H&S procedures, PPE, and safe systems of work.\nCollaborate with production, quality, and stores to hit daily output and OTIF targets.What You'll Bring\n\nProven MIG welding experience in a manufacturing/fabrication setting.\nAbility to read technical drawings and use measuring tools (tape, vernier, angle gauges).\nGood control of heat input, distortion, and weld appearance on thin/medium plate and section.\nStrong attention to detail, reliability, and a positive, team‑focused attitude.Desirable (nice to have):\n\nExperience with automotive/OE or aftermarket metal components.\nFamiliarity with galvanised/e‑coated parts, TIG/spot welding, or basic press‑brake operations.Hours & Pay\n\n£14.00-£15.00 per hour, depending on experience.\nCore hours:\nMonday-Thursday: 07:00-16:00\nFriday: 07:00-11:00 (early finish)\nOvertime: May be available subject to business needs.Progression & Benefits\n\nTemp-to-perm pathway based on performance, quality, and attendance.\nOn becoming permanent: company benefits package (details provided at offer stage), plus training and skill development opportunities.Adecco acts as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and an employment business for the supply of temporary workers.
