InstaStaff are currently recruiting for a MIG Welder/ Steel Fabricator to join a construction company based in Aldridge. This will be a temporary role, initially 2 days paid trial as soon as possible, then a minimum for 4 weeks work in around a month. The duties of the MIG Welder/Steel Fabricator will be: Interpreting engineering drawings, and structural fabrication Producing components from raw materials Using fabrication tools (benders, saws) Following health and safety Passing a weld test Perform high-quality MIG welding in all positions (vertical, overhead, flat) on structural steel or sheet metal Read and interpret technical drawings to layout, measure, cut, and assemble components using machinery like saws and grinders Inspect finished welds and fabrications for defects, ensuring they meet structural specifications and engineering standards. Maintain a clean workspace, adhering to HSE regulations, and perform preventive maintenance on welding machines The ideal MIG Welder/ Steel Fabricator will have: Experience in a similar role Experience in a fabrication workshop or engineering environment Proficiency in MIG welding (TIG/stick experience is highly desirable) Strong ability to read engineering drawings and use measuring equipment (tape measures, calipers) Ability to handl...
