Mill Operative Location:York Pay: £17.00 per hour + Overtime Shift Pattern: 12-hour shifts (rotating days and nights) We are currently recruiting for a Mill Operative to join a busy multispecies animal feed mill based in York. This Mill Operative role is ideal for someone reliable, hands-on and comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment. As a Mill Operative, you will play an important part in supporting the safe and efficient manufacturing of high-quality animal feed products while working rotating 12-hour day and night shifts. As a Mill Operative, your responsibilities will include:Operating and monitoring feed production processes from the control roomLoading raw materials and handling finished productsSupporting batching, mixing and pelleting processes in line with production schedulesCarrying out routine equipment checks and reporting faults or maintenance issuesAssisting with raw material intake and finished product bagging when requiredMaintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards across the millCompleting production records and documentation accuratelySupporting general mill operations as required This Mill Operative position would suit someone who is physically fit and comfortable working in a dusty, noisy industrial environment. Previous experience in manufacturing, production or feed mills is beneficial but not essential, and a forklift licence would be advantageous.
