Location: York
Pay: £17.00 per hour + Overtime paid at 1.5x
Shift Pattern: 12-hour shifts (rotating days and nights)

We are currently recruiting for a Mill Operative to join a busy multispecies animal feed mill based in York. This Mill Operative role is ideal for someone reliable, hands-on and comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment. As a Mill Operative, you will play an important part in supporting the safe and efficient manufacturing of high-quality animal feed products while working rotating 12-hour day and night shifts.

As a Mill Operative, your responsibilities will include:

Operating and monitoring feed production processes from the control room
Loading raw materials and handling finished products
Supporting batching, mixing and pelleting processes in line with production schedules
Carrying out routine equipment checks and reporting faults or maintenance issues
Assisting with raw material intake and finished product bagging when required
Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards across the mill
Completing production records and documentation accurately
Supporting general mill operations as required
This Mill Operative position would suit someone who is physically fit and comfortable working in a dusty, noisy industrial environment. Previous experience in manufacturing, production or feed mills is beneficial but not essential, and a forklift licence would be advantageous. Full training will be provided, and this Mill Operative opportunity offers stable long-term employment with overtime opportunities and progression for the right candidate
