Mobile Air Conditioning / Electrical Engineer\n\nContract: Professional Services, Production & Technology\n\nLocation: Cambridge\n\nHours of work: 40 (M-F)\n\nContract Type: Permanent\n\nWe are seeking a skilled and proactive Mobile Air Conditioning / Electrical Engineer to deliver high-quality maintenance and compliance services across designated client properties.\n\nThis role involves ensuring adherence to Health & Safety regulations, including Risk Assessment, F-Gas compliance, Low Voltage Safe Systems of Work, and COSHH requirements.\n\n​You will play a key part in maintaining operational standards and exceeding customer expectations.\n\nJob Description\n\nThe successful candidate will primarily focus on air conditioning systems while also providing first-line reactive maintenance for electrical and switchgear issues.\n\nYou will undertake planned preventative maintenance (PPM), proactive and reactive tasks within agreed SLAs, and participate in out-of-hours callout duties on a rota basis. Occasional planned night work may be required as per the PPM schedule.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\n * Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations, including Risk Assessment, F-Gas, LV Safe Systems of Work, and COSHH.\n\n * Undertake PPM, proactive and reactive works issued through the helpdesk within relevant SLAs.\n\n * Deliver tasks to exceed customer expectations and maintain high service standards.\n\n * Provide first-line reactive maintenance for electrical and switchgear issues alongside air conditioning duties.\n\n * Participate in out-of-hours callout response (minimum 1 in 4) and occasional planned night work.\n\n * Carry out contractor control duties, including monitoring workmanship and issuing Permits to Work.\n\n * Ensure equipment operates to specified performance criteria and surrounding areas meet company standards.\n\n * Perform fault finding, repairs, maintenance, and installations on client sites across designated regions.\n\nProfessional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications\n\nEssential Qualifications & Experience\n\n * Proven experience working on air conditioning systems (e.g., pressure leak tests, compressor changes).\n\n * City & Guilds 2079 Safe Handling of Refrigerants or CITB J11 equivalent.\n\n * NVQ Level 2/3 or City & Guilds in Commercial Refrigeration and AC Systems.\n\n * Full UK Driving Licence.\n\nDesirable Qualifications\n\n * Qualified Electrician with 18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations (BS:7671:2008).\n\n * Recognised apprenticeship in air conditioning.\n\n * Strong understanding of electrical fundamentals and LV distribution.\n\nThe Company\n\nISS is a world-leading workplace and facility management company, connecting people and places to make the world work better.
