About this Position:
A leading engineering services organisation is seeking an experienced MRO Engineer to support gas turbine and rotary machine OEM projects based in Aberdeen. This role plays a critical part in the development and implementation of repair solutions for gas turbine engine fleets, helping repair facilities meet financial objectives while enhancing their technical capabilities.
The successful candidate will act as an individual contributor, making informed engineering decisions, solving technical challenges, and applying best practices in line with established policies and procedures.

Job Responsibilities:

Develop and implement repair solutions for gas turbine components to support both short-term operations and long-term business strategy.

Analyse non-conformances and provide substantiated repair solutions to support engine overhauls.
*
Recommend inspection methods, update repair documentation, and revise engine repair manuals as needed.

Interpret engineering drawings and apply GD&T principles, including tolerance stack-up analysis.
*
Collaborate cross-functionally with global teams including design, stress, materials, and systems engineers to assess repair feasibility and support industrialisation.

Prepare and present technical data to internal stakeholders and external customers, including leadership teams.
*
Ensure accurate documentation and adherence to engineering policies, export control regulations, and IP requirements.
*
Promote a culture of open communication and continuous improvement through knowledge-sharing and collaboration.
*
Serve as a subject matter expert and mentor within the repair engineering discipline.
*
Stay up to date with advancements in gas turbine repair techniques and engineering standards.
Experience Required:
*
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or a relevant technical field.
*
Prior experience in a similar role within the aerospace or rotary machinery sector.
*
Background in heavy engineering, power transmission systems, and land/marine-based gas turbines.
*
Solid understanding of quality management systems and industry standards.
*
Proficient in root cause analysis and failure mode analysis techniques.
*
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with sound engineering judgement.

Experience with engineering databases, repair development tools, and documentation processes.
*
Proficient in Microsoft Office; familiarity with tools such as Excel Macros, NX, Teamcenter, PDM, and SAP is beneficial.
