Our delivery drivers are he daily point of contact with our customers\n\nResponsibilities:\n\n * \n\n To maintain a safe a competent standard of driving, observing speed limits and other traffic signs and giving due regard to other road users.\n\n * \n\n To have a daily check to ensure that your vehicle is in a roadworthy condition including a check of the lights, brakes, coolant, etc.\n\n * \n\n To report any faults, breakdowns, accidents or delays.\n\n * \n\n To maintain the internal and external condition of the vehicle together with the cleanliness of the vehicle.\n\n * \n\n To ensure sufficient quantities of fuel have been taken for the day's work.\n\n * \n\n To maintain the security of the vehicle and its contents at all times.\n\n * \n\n To check all orders shown on the drop sheets and ensure all orders are loaded on the vehicle.\n\n * \n\n To collect goods returned for credit, mail, delivery bins and their safe return to the branch at times instructed by the branch management.\n\n * \n\n Ensure damages/breakages are dealt with promptly and correctly with due regard to special procedures for HazChems.\n\n * \n\n To always maintain a smart appearance.\n\n * \n\n To help maintain good customer relations.\n\n * \n\n To be involved in other duties including warehouse tasks as defined by the Management.\n\n * \n\n Meet all Health & Safety requirements.\n\nMandatory Requirements:\n\n * \n\n Full UK manual driving licence\n\n * \n\n No more than three live points on your driving licence\n\n * \n\n Capable of bending and lifting in line with our Health and Safety regulations\n\n * \n\n One year's commercial driving experience within the last three years\n\n * \n\n Must be able to work Saturdays\n\nKnowledge, Skills and Experience Required:\n\nEssential\n\n * \n\n A full driving license must be held relevant to the vehicle being driven\n\n * \n\n Whilst we do not ask for a clean license, we will assess the risk of employing applicants who have points on their license, and this may affect our decision to shortlist\n\n * \n\n Excellent verbal and written communication skills\n\n * \n\n Excellent Customer care\n\n * \n\n Intermediate Numeracy and Literacy\n\nDesirable\n\n * \n\n Previous experience of multi-drop delivery driving is highly desirable\n\n * \n\n Route planning experience\n\nManual Handling\n\nIt should be noted that manual handling tasks such as lifting and bending are “essential requirements” of this role.\n\nWhilst Alliance Healthcare is committed to developing positive policies to promote equal opportunities in employment, we have a duty of care to ensure we do not instigate or worsen any conditions that would prevent the employee from carrying out manual handling duties.\n\nOn that basis, for this role we cannot make “reasonable adjustments” for any applicant who is unable to carry out such duties.
