Multiskilled Maintenance Technician - Electrical Bias

EQUANS are looking for an experienced, electrically-qualified Multiskilled Maintenance & Service Technician to join the on-site team supporting Kingston University's student accommodation portfolio. This is a hands-on, customer-facing role where you'll carry out a wide variety of planned and reactive maintenance tasks, helping to ensure a safe, well-maintained environment for residents and staff.

About the Role

You will be responsible for delivering both planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive works across multiple student living sites, including Seething Wells and Kingston Hill. This is a varied role covering electrical, mechanical, plumbing and general building tasks, with the support of a wider maintenance team.
Key duties include:
Completing PPM tasks in line with schedules
Responding to reactive maintenance requests during working hours and participating in the out-of-hours on-call rota
Monthly temperature monitoring and weekly flushing of water outlets
Quarterly shower head/hose cleans (full training provided)
Regular fire alarm testing and bi-annual fire door inspections
Investigating and repairing minor building fabric, fixtures and fittings issues
Carrying out basic plumbing works including unblocking drains, fixing taps, shower valves, and resolving domestic water supply issues
Completing quarterly RCD function tests
Maintaining plant rooms, workshops and storage areas to a high standard
Monitoring subcontractors and supporting their works where required
Keeping accurate records within the Maximo Mobiliser system
Ensuring safe working practices are always followed
A company van is provided for travel between sites (work use only).

What We're Looking For

We're seeking a proactive, reliable technician with strong electrical competency and broad multiskilled experience.
Ideal candidates will have:
A recognised trade qualification (NVQ Level 2 or equivalent)
Experience in a similar maintenance role
Practical understanding of ACOP L8 (desirable)
Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently or within a team
Good organisational and administrative skills, with confidence using digital systems
Flexible approach to working patterns and reactive tasks
A full UK driving licence
Willingness to undertake a DBS check
