Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician Location: Middlesbrough (On-site) Shift Pattern: 4 on / 4 off

An international manufacturer within the Food / FMCG sector is seeking a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician to join its engineering team at a high-performing production facility in Middlesbrough.
\n

\nThe Role\n
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will play a key role in maintaining the reliability and performance of automated production equipment. The position involves responding to plant breakdowns, delivering planned preventative maintenance (PPM), and supporting continuous improvement across the site.
\nKey Responsibilities\n
\n \n Respond quickly and effectively to plant breakdowns to minimise downtime
\n
\n
\n Deliver planned preventative maintenance activities across production equipment
\n
\n
\n Maintain high standards of health & safety, hygiene, and product integrity
\n
\n
\n Ensure equipment and processes support consistent product quality
\n
\n
\n Work collaboratively with production and engineering teams to maintain operational performance
\n
\n
\n Support continuous improvement initiatives and drive operational efficiencies
\n
\n
\n Maintain clear communication across departments to support production targets
\n
\n
\nAbout You\n
\n \n Electrical and/or mechanical qualification or time-served apprenticeship
\n
\n
\n At least 2 years' experience working in a Food, FMCG, or automated production environment
\n
\n
\n Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
\n
\n
\n Good written and verbal communication skills
\n
\n
\n Basic IT skills including Microsoft Office
\n
\n
\nDesirable Skills\n
\n \n Knowledge of PLC systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, instrumentation, and temperature control
\n
\n
\n Experience working with automated production or packaging equipment
\n
\n
\n Basic Food Hygiene and Health & Safety awareness
\n
\n
\n Welding or fabrication experience beneficial
\n
\n
