* Shifts: currently double days 6am-2pm M-F, 2pm-10pm M-F; potential to change to a 3 shift rotation in future 6am-2pm M-F, 2pm-10pm M-F, 10pm-6am M-Thurs
* Salary: Competitive Salary, c.£45,000pa
We are seeking a Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our client, a world leading FMCG manufacturing company with multiple sites across the UK.
As a Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer, you will bring your practical and knowledgeable experience in maintenance engineering to this permanent position based in Chelmsford.

About the Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer Position
The Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for executing both planned and unplanned maintenance activities, ensuring all site assets are maintained to a high standard and meet site requirements. You will play a crucial role in maintaining the reliability of equipment and ensuring a safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities include:
* Execute planned and unplanned maintenance activities to an agreed standard, ensuring safety at all times.
* Carrying out breakdown repair across a range of production equipment including mechanical and electrical systems, with a focus on improving reliability and maximising production output.
* Use SAP to capture all maintenance activities (training provided).
* Provide functional support and expertise to attain engineering standards across the site.
* Perform against relevant Engineering KPIs.
* Ensure a robust and clearly communicated safe system of work for all activities, properly risk assessed.
* Correctly book parts to help control stock levels in stores.
* Be flexible with working hours, including shift cover and overtime.
About You – Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer
* The ideal candidate will be practical and knowledgeable in maintenance engineering, with the ability to read and understand engineering drawings. You will be target-driven, willing to learn, and possess strong interpersonal skills. Teamwork, inquisitiveness, analytical thinking, adaptability, and flexibility are essential traits for this role. Applicants must have an appreciation of and commitment to workplace safety and health and safety improvement.
* Must possess PLC programming experience and proven training record (S5, S7 and AB)
