Mechanical Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer
Location: Sheffield
Salary: Up to £39,000 + Overtime
Job Type: Full-Time

A well-established and growing engineering-focused organisation is seeking a Mechanical Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join its team based in Sheffield. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on engineer who enjoys a mix of workshop and field-based work, with regular UK travel.
\nThe Role\n
You will be responsible for the commissioning, servicing, maintenance, and repair of specialist machinery, both on-site in Sheffield and at customer locations across the UK. This is a varied role with a slight mechanical bias, offering plenty of autonomy and technical challenge.

Key responsibilities include:
\n
\n
Installation, commissioning, and servicing of machinery in both workshop and field environments
\n
Attending customer sites nationwide for maintenance, repairs, and breakdown support
\n
Completing digital work orders and reports via tablet
\n
Fault finding and troubleshooting on mechanical and electrical systems
\n
Supporting continuous improvement with proactive ideas and solutions
\n
Maintaining stock levels of spare parts within service vehicles
\n
Assisting with equipment demonstrations and exhibitions when required
\n
Supporting and mentoring junior engineers and trainees
\n
\nAbout You\n
\n
Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer (multi-skilled)
\n
Strong mechanical skills with basic electrical competence
\n
Experience working on similar machinery or automated equipment (training provided)
\n
Understanding of PLCs / HMIs (Siemens, Unitronics or similar advantageous)
\n
Comfortable working at customer sites with strong communication skills
\n
Highly organised with good problem-solving ability
\n
IT literate (experience with maintenance systems or ERP software beneficial)
\n
Full UK driving licence essential
\n

Desirable:

FLT licence
\n
Welding experience (MMA/Stick)
\n
Experience with networking or PLC programming
\n
