About the Role:
We're recruiting for an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join a leading heavy industrial manufacturer at their busy site in Whittlesey, Peterborough. This is a Double Days role, offering stability, challenge, and excellent pay.
You'll be responsible for keeping critical machinery running in a demanding, high-volume environment - reacting quickly to breakdowns and performing preventative maintenance to minimise downtime.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carrying out electrical and mechanical maintenance across heavy plant machinery
- Fault-finding and repair of conveyors, motors, gearboxes, hydraulics, and PLCs
- Supporting continuous improvement and reliability initiatives
- Responding to breakdowns swiftly to keep production on track
- Working closely with production and engineering teams to ensure minimal disruption
- Maintaining accurate maintenance records and ensuring compliance with health & safety
What We're Looking For:
- Time-served or formally qualified engineer (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent)
- Multi-skilled background - electrical or mechanical bias considered
- Experience in heavy industry, manufacturing, aggregates, cement, or similar
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills under pressure
- Comfortable working in a physically demanding environment on nights
- Team player with a proactive approach to maintenance
