Location: Leominster
Salary: £27,000 – £35,000
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
An established engineering business based in Leominster is looking to recruit a Multiskilled Machinist to join its growing production team.
This is a hands-on role working on precision components, primarily machining aluminium using manual equipment. You'll also support assembly and bench fitting activities, playing a key part in ensuring products meet exact specifications and quality standards.
The Role
As a Multiskilled Machinist, you will machine a wide range of precision components using manual mills and lathes. You will also assemble mechanical components, working from detailed engineering drawings to produce high-quality finished parts.
Accuracy and attention to detail are critical, as you will be responsible for ensuring all components meet required tolerances and specifications.
Key Responsibilities
  • Operate manual milling machines and lathes to produce precision components
  • Machine aluminium materials to specification
  • Carry out bench fitting and mechanical assembly tasks
  • Interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
  • Use measurement tools to inspect and verify component accuracy
  • Operate additional workshop equipment including band saws, linishers and grinders
  • Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment
  • Support continuous improvement within the workshop
What We're Looking For
  • Experience operating manual mills and lathes
  • Familiarity with general manual workshop equipment
  • Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Skilled in using measurement tools to ensure precision
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Reliable, self-motivated and able to work independently
Desirable Skills
  • CNC programming experience
  • Brazing or soldering skills
