This role combines leadership with practical engineering skills to ensure maximum uptime, efficiency, and safety of all plant and equipment.\n\nJob Description:\n\nDiagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic faults on production lines and ancillary equipment.\nImplement planned preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime.\nLead a small maintenance team, allocating tasks and ensuring compliance with safety standards.\nProvide technical guidance and hands-on support during breakdowns and installations.\nIdentify opportunities to improve machine reliability and efficiency.\nSupport projects for equipment upgrades and process optimization.\nEnsure all maintenance activities adhere to health and safety regulations.\nMaintain accurate records of maintenance work and spare parts usage. \n\nBeneficial Skills / Experience \n\nStrong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills.\nExperience with extrusion machinery, plastic processing equipment, or similar high-speed manufacturing environments.\nKnowledge of PLC systems, pneumatics, and hydraulics.\nAbility to supervise and motivate a small team while remaining hands-on.\nFamiliarity with film extrusion, packaging production, or related processes is highly desirable.\nTime-served apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering.\n17th/18th Edition Electrical qualification (advantageous).\nStrong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.\nExcellent communication and organizational skills.\nProactive approach to maintenance and continuous improvement
