Job Title: Mechatronics Technician (Electrical Bias)Department: Engineering & MaintenanceLocation:WolverhamptonReporting To: Engineering ManagerOverviewAn established manufacturing organisation is seeking a skilled Electrically Biased Mechatronics Technician to support the ongoing maintenance and optimisation of high-volume production equipment. This role is critical in ensuring operational efficiency, minimising downtime, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the site.Qualifications & ExperienceRecognised electrical engineering qualification (e.g. City & Guilds, HNC, or equivalent), or demonstrable hands-on experience at an equivalent levelProven background in electrical maintenance within a high-volume manufacturing or production environmentStrong working knowledge of PLC systems, including Siemens S7 and/or Allen BradleyMulti-skilled capability with a willingness to support mechanical maintenance activities where requiredKey ResponsibilitiesCarry out planned and reactive maintenance on production machinery to maximise uptime and efficiencyComplete all maintenance documentation, data recording, and reporting accurately and within required timeframesPerform preventative maintenance and condition-based monitoring activitiesInterpret electrical and mechanical schematics and technical drawingsSupport installation and upgrade projects, including cabling, containment systems, and electrical infrastructureWork with systems involving pneumatics, hydraulics, and PLC controlsMaintain compliance with all health, safety, and environmental standardsContribute to continuous improvement initiatives and operational best practiceProvide cross-functional support to other maintenance personnel when requiredParticipate in training and development to remain compliant with current legislation and industry standardsCommunicate effectively across all levels of the businessSupport shift cover, overtime, and call-out requirements as neededSkills & CompetenciesStrong fault-finding and problem-solving abilityAbility to work independently and under pressure in a fast-paced environmentTeam-oriented with the ability to support and influence othersGood numerical and IT skills, including maintenance management systemsFlexible, proactive, and committed to ongoing learning and developmentTechnical KnowledgeElectrical systems and wiring regulationsPLC fault finding and basic programming awarenessPneumatics and hydraulics (basic level)Fabrication and basic welding (desirable)General mechanical fitting skillsWorking EnvironmentThis role operates within a fast-paced, results-driven manufacturing environment.
