Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer

Pure Staff are currently recruiting for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer on behalf of our client, a rapidly growing tissue paper supplier with production sites across Europe and distribution to over 70 countries worldwide.

This Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer role is ideal for someone with strong mechanical and electrical skills who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for breakdown support, planned maintenance and continuous improvement activities within the facility's production operations.

Your Role

As a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, your duties will include:

• Attending breakdowns on a variety of mechanical and electrical equipment within the paper industry
• Performing Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) activities
• Carrying out continuous improvement projects
• Identifying faults and performing Root Cause Analysis on equipment breakdowns
• Monitoring equipment performance following repairs
• Communicating issues or ongoing problems to senior management
• Maintaining accurate records of maintenance tasks and spare part usage using EAM Infor CMMS
• Participating in plant improvements and modifications
• Attending relevant training to support daily tasks

Requirements

• Completed Multi-Skilled Apprenticeship in an engineering discipline
• Mechanical and electrical maintenance experience
• Strong logical thinker with excellent problem-solving skills
• Proactive approach to safety
• Able to work under pressure while maintaining high levels of accuracy
• Working knowledge of PLC hardware, pneumatics, and hydraulics

Desirable:

• Experience within the tissue/paper industry
• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Mechanical or Electrical Maintenance
• PLC or robot cell programming and/or fault-finding experience

Pay & Shifts

• £45,000 per year
• Monday to Friday
• Two-shift pattern:
  • 06:00 - 14:00
  • 14:00 - 22:00
