Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrical/Mechanical)

First Achieve Engineering are currently recruiting for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrical / Mechanical) to join a well-established and forward-thinking manufacturing business.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out repairs to plant, machinery, and equipment in a safe and timely manner
Support the development and execution of planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules
Diagnose faults, carry out repairs, and return equipment to service efficiently
Work with maintenance systems to plan and prioritise workloads
Assist with installation, movement, and repositioning of machinery
Conduct electrical maintenance including wiring, panels, and control systems (110v, 240v, 415v)
Install and maintain electrical components such as switches, relays, and control equipment
Manufacture simple spare parts using workshop machinery where required
Work alongside external contractors and specialist engineers when necessary
Operate equipment such as forklifts and MEWPs (training provided if required)
Maintain accurate maintenance records and logs
Promote and maintain high health & safety standards across all activities
Provide support and guidance to less experienced team members

Requirements

Essential:

Time-served engineer in machine tool fitting or equivalent qualification
Formal electrical qualification (e.g. IET Wiring Regulations BS7671 or equivalent)
Previous experience in a similar maintenance engineering role
Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems
Ability to read and interpret engineering and electrical drawings
Knowledge of current electrical regulations and installation practices
Experience with planned and preventative maintenance systems
Full UK driving licence

Desirable:

Experience with conduit, armoured cable, tray, and trunking installations
Experience using mechanical lifting equipment
Multi-skilled across both electrical and mechanical disciplines
Experience within industrial or commercial engineering environments
