About the RoleThis is a hands-on engineering role focused on maintaining mechanical, electrical, and building systems across laboratory and office environments.Our client is a fast-growing, ambitious science and technology organisation, developing a world-class campus in Oxford to support breakthrough research and innovation. They're investing heavily into their ever-expanding research centre and are seeking a Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer to support the day-to-day operation of this complex research estate.Key ResponsibilitiesYou will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of a complex research site, carrying out both planned and reactive maintenance while supporting wider facilities and engineering teams. Carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance across mechanical, electrical, and building systemsDiagnose faults and deliver repairs to plant, equipment, and infrastructureEnsure all works are carried out in line with health, safety, and compliance standardsMonitor system performance and proactively identify potential issuesSupport installation, commissioning, and upgrades of systems and equipmentCollaborate with internal teams and external contractors, including out-of-hours support via an on-call rota Essential Requirements Relevant qualification in Mechanical, Electrical or Facilities Engineering (e.g. City & Guilds, NVQ or equivalent)Strong working knowledge of both mechanical and electrical systemsProven ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficientlyStrong communication skills and ability to work collaborativelyHighly organised, independent, and able to prioritise workload effectively in a fast-paced environment What's On OfferThis is a unique opportunity to work within a collaborative, technically advanced research environment where engineering plays a critial role in supporting scientific discovery and innovation.
