The PositionAs Design Manager for Data Centres (MEP), based in London, you will lead multi-disciplinary design delivery across high-profile mission‑critical projects. You’ll manage multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders to ensure seamless, high-quality outcomes, providing technical and commercial leadership from concept through to handover and post-handover stages. You will act as NDY’s primary client liaison on design matters, championing design excellence, collaboration and sustainable solutions in complex, energy‑intensive environments.Key ChallengesManaging complex, multidisciplinary design teams and stakeholders under tight timeframesDelivering resilient facility designs within challenging budget constraintsBalancing client requirements and industry standards with innovative, sustainable design approachesDemonstrating NDY’s market‑leading engineering to drive repeat business and growthYour Key AccountabilitiesProject delivery & design managementLead and coordinate MEP design activities from concept to handover, ensuring integration across disciplinesManage programme, cost and risk, resolving issues to meet commercial objectivesMaintain design documentation, including risk registers, change logs and quality assuranceCoordinate technical deliverables such as specifications, calculations and design reportsFacilitate design reviews, client meetings and workshopsSupport procurement, testing, commissioning and post-handover activitiesClient and stakeholder managementServe as primary client contact for design matters, effectively managing expectationsBuild strong relationships with architects, engineers, contractors and other stakeholdersIdentify and pursue business opportunities through client engagement and networkingPeople leadership and developmentMentor, coach and manage project engineers, designers and consultantsFoster a collaborative, inclusive team culture that promotes knowledge sharing and growthEnsure adherence to NDY’s quality, health and safety, and sustainability standardsWhat We’re Looking ForQualifications and certificationsBachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or equivalentChartered Engineer status preferred or working towardsSkills and experience7–12 years’ experience managing MEP design on data centres or mission‑critical projectsStrong knowledge of data centre systems: UPS, standby generation, electrical distribution, earthing, battery systems, CRAC/CRAH, chilled water, pumping, controls/BMSProven success leading multidisciplinary teams and delivering on time and budgetExperience managing client relationships and stakeholder communications on complex projectsAdditional skillsExcellent communication and presentation skillsCommercially aware with strong problem‑solving and decision‑making capabilityCapable of working independently and collaboratively under pressureFamiliarity with Uptime Institute tiering, ISO/IEC critical facility standards is desirableExperience in sustainable and low‑carbon design for high‑energy facilities is a plusAdditional InformationOrganization: 788 NUK #J-18808-Ljbffr
