Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Network Operations Engineer to join the IT team of a London-based Financial Services organisation. This is a hands-on operational support role, providing coverage for the Senior Network Engineer while also contributing to Platform Support activities. The position has a strong emphasis on AWS cloud networking and automation, helping to optimise performance and drive operational efficiency across a cloud-first environment. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills, resilience, strong attention to detail, and a proactive desire to learn, with a clear passion for AWS technologies and automation.

Key Responsibilities:

Opening and closing support tickets and resolving ongoing operational issues Supporting network services across both on-prem and AWS environments Assisting Senior Network Engineer with day-to-day operations and project tasks Contributing to automation initiatives to streamline support workflows and reduce manual effort Working closely with internal teams to ensure a stable and secure infrastructure Supporting continuous improvement in monitoring, maintenance, and service reliability

Skills & Experience Required:

Decent AWS networking knowledge (e.g. VPCs, routing, security groups) Interest and/or hands-on experience with automation tools or scripting Strong communication skills with an ability to collaborate across teams High attention to detail and ability to work methodically through issues Resilience, eagerness to learn, and proactive approach to problem solving Experience in operational support or platform support environments
