Network Security Engineer - 12 month contract (inside IR35)

The Role

You’ll join a high-performing Network Security Operations team responsible for safeguarding critical infrastructure and ensuring seamless, secure connectivity across the organisation.

What You’ll Do:

• Manage and resolve day-to-day support tickets while implementing configuration changes across key technologies.
• Work with enterprise-grade tools including F5, Fortinet, Palo Alto, and BlueCoat (firewalls, load balancers, proxy platforms).
• Collaborate closely with internal teams to diagnose and resolve network security issues.
• Balance technical delivery with clear communication, effectively managing stakeholder expectations.

What We’re Looking For:

• Hands-on experience configuring and managing enterprise firewalls (e.g. Fortinet, Palo Alto).
• Strong experience handling and troubleshooting support tickets in a production environment.
• Solid grounding in networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, routing, switching, and DNS.
• Understanding of deep packet inspection, core security principles, and modern attack techniques.
