Job SummarySouth Fulham PCN has an exciting opportunity for a newly qualified GP to work with the seven practices within our thriving PCN.Please note that as an organisation, we are unable to offer visa sponsorship.Main duties of the jobAs per NHSE guidance, this is a position for newly qualified GPs (within 2 years of CCT date), who have not previously held a substantive post, to work in the PCN on a fixed term contract until 30th September 2026. The post-holder will manage a caseload and deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all patients.We are keen to attract the right candidate, and will work with you to agree what works best for the practices, PCN, and appointed person. We are therefore approaching recruitment with an open mind on the specifics of how the role will function, be it rotating across practices, running a special interest clinic or working alongside our e‑hub team.You will be registered with the General Medical Council (GMC) and hold a certificate of completion of training within two years. If your vision and values align with ours, we would love to hear from you.DetailsDate posted: 20 February 2026Reference number: A5375-26-0000Compensation & ContractPay scheme: £11,440 per session per annum (11,440 a session)Contract: Fixed term, duration 10 months, part‑time with flexible working.Job locations: 5‑7 Parsons Green, London, SW6 4ULJob ResponsibilitiesYou will undertake a variety of duties including surgery consultations, telephone/video consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion.Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self‑referred or referred from other health care workers within the practice or external organisations.Assessing the health needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.Contributing to QOF requirements and recording data appropriately.Contributing to PCN requirements and recording data appropriately.In consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols, developing care plans for health‑related illnesses.Screening patients for health education.Admitting and discharging patients to and from the caseload and referring to other care providers as appropriate.Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards.Collecting data for audit purposes and contributing to the practice audit programme as required.Compiling and issuing computer‑generated acute and repeat prescriptions using ESP (avoiding physical or hand‑written prescriptions whenever possible).Prescribing in accordance with the accepted prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate.Take responsibility for some aspects of the clinical work within the team, for example coordinating aspects of governance, QOF, enhanced services, CPD and keeping clinical protocols up to date.In general, the post holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care, as set by Royal College of General Practitioners, General Medical Council and other applicable royal colleges, councils, the Department of Health, Clinical Commissioning Groups and all other regulatory and standard setting organisations.Person SpecificationEssentialA self‑starter.Adaptable to different work environments.ExperienceExperience of working within the NHS, with general public & team working.Good time management and highly organised.Ability to use initiative, judgement, resourcefulness, common sense and local knowledge.Interest in quality improvement work.Able to obtain and analyse complex technical information.Recognise priorities when problem solving and identify deviations from the normal pattern and is able to refer to seniors when appropriate.Able to work under pressure and to meet deadlines.Produce timely and informative reports.Work effectively independently and as a team member.Demonstrates accountability for delivering professional expertise and direct service provision.QualificationsEligible to work in the UK.Newly qualified GP (no more than 2 years qualified) with no previous or current substantive post.GMC registered.Other postgraduate qualifications (Minor Surgery, Education, Family planning etc).Disclosure and Barring Service CheckThis post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.UK RegistrationApplicants must have current UK professional registration.
