IN A NUTSHELL

As a leading manufacturer in sports nutrition and health food, we produce a wide range of products,from powders and capsules to tablets and soft gels, all from our cutting-edge facility.

In this role, you’ll play a key part in shaping the future of our product range by owning and driving the Innovation calendar that aligns with our broader product and commercial strategy.

Working closely with the Head of Innovation and Product Strategy Director, you’ll help define and deliver a forward-thinking pipeline that anticipates consumer needs and brings exciting new products to market.You'll also lead and support a team of two New Product Developers, helping them grow and thrive as they bring fresh ideas to life.

This is a highly collaborative position that will see you partner with teams across the business, from Brand & Studio to Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and eCommerce,to deliver best-in-class innovation and seamless product launches.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?

• Lead the formulation and flavouring of market-leading sports nutrition products.
  

• Develop efficacious, compliant products for our target markets.
  

• Build and maintain strong relationships with ingredient and flavour suppliers; negotiate effectively to support innovation.
  

• Partner with the purchasing team and suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of materials.
  

• Manage and mentor the Innovation team, supporting their growth and development.
  

• Provide technical expertise and support to the Customer Service team as needed.
  

• Oversee the full innovation process from ideation to launch, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery.
  

• Develop and manage the innovation pipeline.
  

• Contribute to the strategic direction of the innovation pipeline, including new product development (NPD), extension, and renovation (EPD).
  

• Manage projects from concept through to launch, ensuring all milestones are met.
  

• Collaborate cross-functionally with key teams (Commercial (Brand, Marketing, Studio, Acquisition, and Customer Service), Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Logistics) to deliver aligned and successful launches.
  

• Conduct consumer research (sensory and/or data-driven) to validate and refine concepts.
  

• Define and deliver the commercial proposition of each new product, ensuring alignment with business, team, and category objectives.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

• Degree in Sports Science, Food Science, Nutrition, or a related field.
  

• Proven experience developing and launching products in the sports nutrition, health, or wellbeing sector.
  

• At least 5 years’ experience in New Product Development (NPD) or a similar innovation role.
  

• Strong understanding of EFSA/compliance, including health and nutritional claims legislation.
  

• Demonstrated project management skills with a track record of delivering projects on time and to a high standard.
  

• Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  

• Confident, detail-oriented, and commercially minded.
  

• Natural leader and team player who inspires and supports others.

• Previous people management experience is a plus, but a genuine enthusiasm and eagerness to lead is essential!

LOCATION: Colchester
HYBRID: 3 days in the office, 2 days working from home
