Position: Newly Qualified Solicitor – Court of Protection (Property & Affairs)

Location: Central London (Hybrid Working)

About the Role

We are recruiting on behalf of a highly respected London law firm for a Newly Qualified (0 – 1 PQE) Solicitor to join their specialist Court of Protection Property & Affairs team. This is an outstanding opportunity to build a career in a niche and rewarding area of law.

The successful candidate will work alongside experienced solicitors managing deputyship and estate administration matters, providing an essential service to vulnerable individuals and their families. The firm offers a hybrid working arrangement, private medical insurance, and a structured career development pathway.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of Court of Protection Property & Affairs matters under supervision, including:
  • Preparing and submitting deputyship applications to the Court of Protection
  • Statutory will applications
  • Assisting in the administration of high-value estates
  • Draft legal documents, reports, and client correspondence in a clear and professional manner
  • Investigations of any financial abuse
  • Support senior solicitors on complex or contested deputyship cases
  • Maintain accurate financial records and ensure strict compliance with Court of Protection rules
  • Provide empathetic and professional client service, building trusted relationships with clients, their families, and external professionals


Candidate Requirements

  • Qualified Solicitor (0–1 PQE) or due to qualify within the next 6 months
  • Strong interest or prior experience in Court of Protection Property & Affairs, Private Client, or related financial administration work
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to handle a varied caseload efficiently
  • Strong numeracy skills and commercial awareness relating to property and financial matters
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a sensitive and professional approach to vulnerable clients
  • Proactive team player with a willingness to learn and develop within a specialist department
