Employment Solicitor (0–2 PQE)

About the Opportunity

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a junior Employment Solicitor (0–2 PQE) to join a highly regarded employment team within a leading international law firm.


The team is recognised for delivering practical, commercially focused employment law advice to employer clients across the UK and internationally. With a strong collaborative culture and an established network of employment specialists across Europe, the team advises on high-quality, complex matters across a range of sectors including technology, life sciences, financial services, hospitality and sport.


The practice spans transformation projects, complex workplace investigations and high-value litigation, offering exposure to varied and sophisticated work from the outset.


The Role

Working closely with Partners, Legal Directors and Associates, you will support on a broad mix of contentious and non-contentious employment matters. This role offers hands-on experience, early responsibility and meaningful client exposure.

This position would suit a proactive and commercially minded lawyer looking to build a high-quality employment practice within a supportive and forward-thinking team.


Key Responsibilities

Casework & Advisory Support

  • Assist with Employment Tribunal litigation, including preparing ET3s, drafting schedules and counter-schedules of loss, conducting legal research and supporting advocacy preparation.
  • Support workplace investigations, including fact-gathering, document review and drafting investigation reports.
  • Contribute to advisory work relating to disciplinary and grievance processes, redundancies, TUPE, employment status and senior exits.
  • Assist on transformation projects such as restructuring, outsourcing and organisational change programmes, including preparing consultation documentation and supporting project management.

Client Interaction & Communication

  • Draft clear, commercially focused advice under supervision.
  • Attend client meetings and calls, preparing agendas and follow-up documentation.
  • Develop strong client relationships through responsive and professional communication.

Business Development & Team Contribution

  • Support the delivery of webinars, seminars and client training sessions.
  • Contribute to thought leadership initiatives and internal know-how.
  • Participate in wider team initiatives and collaborative projects.


Candidate Profile

  • 0–2 years’ PQE (including newly qualified solicitors and those completing a final seat in employment law).
  • Experience gained during a training contract in respondent employment work.
  • Strong grounding in employment law fundamentals, with a desire to develop expertise in restructuring, investigations and litigation.
  • Excellent drafting, research and analytical skills.
  • Organised, proactive and commercially aware.
  • Confident communicator with strong client-facing potential.
  • Keen to take on responsibility early and develop within a high-performing team.
