Job Description
Are you an experienced childcare professional ready to lead a busy, thriving nursery? We are looking for a Nursery Manager who can inspire a passionate team, provide outstanding care and education, and build lasting relationships with children, parents, and the local community.
About the Role
As Nursery Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the nursery, ensuring the highest standards of care, learning, and safety. You will lead a strong, engaged team, manage budgets and administration, and promote the nurserys reputation in the local community.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage a busy nursery, supporting staff and fostering a positive, motivated team culture.
Implement the EYFS framework in line with company and Ofsted guidelines.
Build strong relationships with parents, carers, local authorities, and regulatory bodies.
Recruit, induct, and develop staff, ensuring they have the training and support to thrive.
Maintain accurate records for children and staff in line with GDPR guidance.
Identify team training needs and develop career progression plans.
Manage budgets, invoicing, and fee collection efficiently.
Oversee health, safety, and building maintenance, ensuring a safe environment for children.
Drive a positive nursery culture, promoting high standards of care, compassion, and continuous learning.
Safeguarding Responsibilities
Take overall accountability for safeguarding across the nursery.
Promote a strong safeguarding culture and ensure staff know how to respond to concerns.
Act as the first point of contact for safeguarding issues and escalate to relevant authorities when required.
Maintain accurate and secure records of all concerns and referrals.
Keep up-to-date with safeguarding legislation, policies, and best practice.
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum Level 3 Early Years Qualification.
Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) training (up to date).
Valid Paediatric First Aid Certificate.
Minimum 3 years experience in an early years setting, including leadership experience.
Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework.
Excellent people management, communication, and organisational skills.
A passion for early childhood education.
