Nurture Teacher - SEND Secondary School (Redhill area) Location: Redhill, Surrey Contract: Full-time, Permanent Salary: £34,398 - £48,913 (M1 - UPS1) Plus £5,000 Welcome Bonus for Qualified Teachers Hours: 40 hours per week• Start time: 8:15am• Finish: Mon/Wed/Thu 4:45pm | Tue 5pm | Fri 4pm Reed Education are working with a SEND Secondary School in the Redhill area, supporting young people aged 11-16 with: Social communication differences Emotional regulation needs Sensory processing needs Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) Complex SEND profiles Students benefit from: Small class sizes High levels of in-class support A personalised curriculum aligned with the national curriculum A multi-disciplinary team including therapists and specialist staff The Role As a Nurture Teacher, you will deliver high-quality, holistic teaching and learning tailored to students with ASC, SEMH and other associated needs. You will support young people who may have multiple learning difficulties and may present with behaviours that challenge. You will play a key role in helping pupils develop emotional literacy, social skills, communication strategies, and build confidence in a safe, structured environment. Key Responsibilities Teaching & Planning Deliver a differentiated and engaging curriculum that meets diverse learning needs. Provide clear lesson structures with pace, motivation, and challenge. Develop and adapt lesson plans, reflecting on outcomes. Assessment & Reporting Set personalised learning targets and monitor progress. Assess, review and report to parents, colleagues and external bodies as required. Contribute to EHCP reviews, PEPs, LAC reviews and statutory documentation. Collaboration & Professional Practice Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Supervise and guide support staff within your classroom. Contribute to curriculum development and whole-school initiatives. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of autism, SEND practice and relevant legislation. Liaise effectively with parents, carers, external agencies and other professionals. Behaviour & Pastoral Support Manage challenging behaviours in line with school policies. Work in a non-confrontational, trauma-informed manner. Promote a positive, nurturing, relationship-based learning environment. What We’re Looking For Essential Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) Experience working with pupils with ASC and SEND Ability to deliver a differentiated curriculum Strong knowledge of the national curriculum Understanding of SEMH needs and complex presentations Strong planning, assessment and communication skills Desirable Additional SEN qualifications Experience in a special school or specialist provision Experience designing curriculum for SEND learners Knowledge of co-occurring conditions related to autism Why Apply?
