Join our expanding Occupational Health & Wellbeing team as an Occupational Health Nurse Advisor and make a meaningful difference to the health and wellbeing of our workforce. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated OH professional who wants to use their clinical expertise to influence how the service develops and is delivered across our organisation.
In this role, you’ll have genuine autonomy and the opportunity to help shape a growing service. You'll use your experience in health surveillance and case management to provide evidence-based advice that supports employees to thrive at work. You’ll also play a key role in maintaining safe and accurate clinical records, ensuring compliance with legal, clinical and organisational standards.
Collaboration is central to the role. You’ll work closely with employees, managers and our external Occupational Health provider to deliver a comprehensive service including Health Surveillance, Case Management, and targeted wellbeing initiatives.
You’ll manage a structured and balanced caseload and work closely with the OH & Wellbeing Manager as part of a positive, proactive and forward-thinking team. You’ll also have opportunities to contribute to wider wellbeing programmes, policy development, and continuous service improvements that help shape the future of Occupational Health within the organisation.
What you bring:
* Part 3 NMC Registered Nurse with a degree/diploma in Occupational Health.
* Experience in Occupational Health practice, including health surveillance, complex case management, and providing evidence‑based clinical advice
* Proven experience in fitness‑to‑work assessments and management referrals, providing clear and practical recommendations.
* Knowledge and understanding of the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and UK GDPR requirements
* Ability to explain information in a clear, practical way and build effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
* Organisational skills that enable effective workload management and accurate maintenance of clinical records within OH and HR systems.
* Experience contributing to the development and improvement of Occupational Health policies and processes.
* Experience of working within railway, public sector, or other safety‑critical environments (desirable).
This is a full-time role, 35 hours per week, working Monday to Friday. ScotRail offers a hybrid working model which is typically 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home.
