About the Opportunity

A respected, nationwide consultancy with three decades of steady growth is expanding its Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) team. We’re looking for a motivated Occupational Hygienist to cover projects in and around Birmingham and the wider West Midlands.

If you thrive on variety, enjoy travelling to client sites, and want to develop your expertise in a supportive, forward-thinking environment, we’d love to hear from you.

What you’ll be doing

  • Plan and deliver exposure monitoring programmes across diverse industries, assessing airborne contaminants, noise, LEV performance and vibration risks.
  • Translate findings into practical advice, helping clients create healthier, legally compliant workplaces.
  • Carry out COSHH reviews and occupational noise surveys, producing concise, client-ready reports with clear actions.
  • Prepare quotes and manage client enquiries, balancing technical accuracy with commercial awareness.
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues in the SHE department to enhance and broaden our service offering.

What we’re looking for

  • BOHS modules W501, W503 and W507 (or equivalent).
  • Demonstrable experience in occupational / industrial hygiene or a related SHE role.
  • Confident communicator who can write crisp, jargon-free reports.
  • Solid Microsoft 365 skills, especially Excel.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel and stay away when needed.
  • Self-starter who’s equally comfortable working solo or as part of a tight-knit team.

What’s in it for you

  • Salary: £40,000 – £50,000 (negotiable, DOE).
  • Contracted hours: 40 hrs, Monday–Friday (flexible options available; minimum three full days).
  • Company car plus paid travel time.
  • Annual leave: 22 days + 8 bank holidays, rising with service, plus an extra day for your birthday.
  • Generous overtime policy and a genuine work–life balance pledge.
  • Private healthcare plan, contributory pension (3% employer), and contractual sick pay.
  • Professional development: funded further BOHS training and tailored CPD.
