Occupational Therapist - Sensory Service - Hackney, London

Pay Rate: £36.00 per hour

Working Arrangement: 36 hour - Hybrid working expected to attend the office twice a week

Contract: Locum - 3 month initial contract with possibility to extend beyond


Pertemps are recruiting for an experienced Occupational Therapist to join the dynamic Hackney Occupational Therapy and Sensory Service within their Hospital Team. This hybrid role offers the chance to make a real difference in residents’ lives while enjoying the flexibility of part-office, part-community working.


About the Role

You will deliver outstanding occupational therapy interventions to promote independence in daily living activities, working in a co-productive way to ensure residents have choice and control over their care. This is a varied and rewarding role within a supportive multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

  • Relevant degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • HCPC-registered Occupational Therapist


Required Skills

  • Clinical Experience: Proven background in hospital or social care settings
  • Assessment Skills: Ability to carry out functional assessments and identify needs
  • Care Act Knowledge: Skilled in completing Care Act reviews, with a strong understanding of the Care Act 2014
  • Legislation Awareness: Knowledge of safeguarding principles, the Mental Capacity Act (MCA), and related frameworks
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to liaise with patients, families, and colleagues
  • Problem-Solving: Creative approach to tailoring interventions to meet individual needs
  • Empathy: Compassionate, person-centred care approach
  • Teamwork: Collaborative working within a multidisciplinary environment
  • Organisation: Strong time management skills to manage a busy caseload effectively
