Job Details
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Occupational Therapy Assistant working with adults and older people in their home environments. You will be responsible for undertaking outcome focused assessments to identify intervention that will enable people to be as independent and safe as possible in everyday tasks. This will include recommendation and instruction in the safe use of assistive equipment and minor adaptations.
You will be responsible for organising your own caseload. Lone working is intrinsic to the role. You will be responsible for the completion of accurate and timeous documentation. You will be part of the team duty rota and prioritise requests for assessment.
You will have support and regular supervision from an Occupational Therapist in the team. Occupational Therapy Assistants are valued in the team for their contribution, knowledge and skills base.
The Community Occupational Therapy teams have an integral role within the Health and Social Care partnership in supporting and maintaining individuals within their own communities and homes. To facilitate this, we work in partnership with a range of other stakeholders, both formal and informal. Therefore, excellent communication skills are essential as well as the ability to demonstrate a flexible approach.
The Person
You will require experience and skills transferrable to carrying out assessments that focus on individual outcomes, strengths and risk factors.

Before confirming your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.
