Role Overview

The Office Manager will oversee the day-to-day running of a busy head office within a specialist construction and civil engineering business. Supporting both operational and leadership teams, the role is responsible for ensuring efficient office management, administrative coordination, and a positive working environment. The position plays a key role in supporting project delivery by maintaining effective systems, processes, and communication across the business.

Key Responsibilities

* Manage the day-to-day operations of the office, ensuring a smooth and efficient working environment.

* Act as the central point of contact for all administrative and office-related matters.

* Provide high-level administrative support to senior leadership and wider teams.

* Coordinate meetings, diaries, travel arrangements, and company events.

* Maintain office systems, records, and document control processes.

* Support project teams with documentation, reporting, and coordination where required.

* Manage office supplies, equipment, and facilities, ensuring cost-effective procurement.

* Liaise with external suppliers, contractors, and service providers.

* Assist with onboarding new employees, including inductions and office setup.

* Support HR and finance teams with general administrative tasks.

* Ensure compliance with company procedures, policies, and quality standards.

* Help maintain a professional, organised, and collaborative office culture.

Skills & Experience

* Proven experience in an Office Manager or senior administrative role.

* Experience within construction, engineering, or a related sector is desirable.

* Strong organisational and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment.

* Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and document management systems.

* Ability to work independently while supporting multiple stakeholders.

* High attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
