As part of the Greater Wash SOV/CTV delivery, the Senior Technician performs a key role. The Onshore Senior Technician will oversee all planned and corrective works during their on-shift period. The Senior Technician will also have the flexibility to directly support troubleshooting, modification and improvement work on the WTGs.
The onshore Senior Technicians will cover the shift operational period from 06:00 to 22:00. You will lead by example, promoting a culture of SSU excellence and continuous improvement. Task delivery on or off WTG will be coordinated between the on-shift senior technicians under guidance from the Leader Operations SOV.
To deliver the role effectively, seamless collaboration with the Sheringham Shoal onshore asset engineers, PLC support services in particular Planning Marine and Logistics is required.
The role is based onshore on a 2on/2off rotation, working 12-hour shifts at the O&M base in Great Yarmouth. The role reports to the Leader Operations SOV on the Sheringham Shoal planned maintenance shift. There will be frequent opportunities to travel offshore for periods to support operations and lead troubleshoot and corrective works.
Shifts, early and lates will be coordinated with the Leader SOV offshore and will normally be one week earlies, one week lates.
What will my tasks be?
Within this position, your key tasks will be to:
Support the Leader Operations SOV to enable safe and efficient delivery of the work order plan.
Promote efficiency in compliant execution.
Provide WTG technical support to technicians, asset engineers and Equinor Wind Control personnel as required.
Assist the onshore and offshore stakeholders with sound technical advice and support and be prepared to find technical resolutions to challenging problems.
Work closely with the Planning, Marine, Logistics personnel onboard the SOV to promote safe and efficient operations.
Create and update SAP notifications and work orders in accordance with manage maintenance governance. Create technical inspection reports and assessments.
Proactively support spares management, including monitoring of min/max levels and critical spares identification.
Prepare work order supporting documentation and ensure compliance with WR5000 and WR9085.
Be prepared to develop towards Local representative WTG in accordance with WR5000, WR9085.
Be prepared to develop towards Operational Controller WTG in accordance with WR5000, WR9085 and cover OC role with EWCC during peak activity periods.
Author and review task specific risk assessment, method statements and work instructions.
Responsibilities include:
Promote a strong safety culture. Lead by example with SSU (Synergi) reporting and support others development in this area.
Deliver in compliance with Equinor management system governance, laws and regulations and proactively enhance your knowledge of these.
Take task responsibility for some scopes with support from onshore asset engineering teams.
Coordinate and communicate with onshore and offshore stakeholders to ensure effective risk management throughout task planning and execution phases.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives in operation and maintenance processes, systems, and practices. Encourage innovation and implementation of best practices.

Minimum experience and qualifications within the following or you can demonstrate equivalent technical knowledge gained via other means:
Authorised Troubleshooting Technician with demonstrable troubleshooting experience and troubleshooting knowledge across D6 and G4 WTG platforms.
Proficient user of SGRE WPS and able to navigate this system to fault find, plot, and investigate machine underperformance.
City and Guilds Level 3 NVQ – Electrical Engineering.
City and Guilds Level 3 NVQ – Mechanical principles.
Basic Hydraulics principles (Fluid application).
IOSH/NEBOSH qualification – or willing to take.
A continuous improvement mind set and a willingness to challenge the norm.
A proven positive attitude towards improving safety reporting and action follow up.
An individual who is keen to develop local relationships with asset engineering teams and a willingness to collaborate with these teams to meet the overall sites goals.
Previous experience with working within Maintenance and Management Systems.
Willing to complete full GWO offshore certificates and Medical.
